  
Two generations ago, long before Jake’s Smokehouse Style Bar-B-Que Sauces ever got started was great grandfather Jake back in the hills of Arkansas turning out just aboutthe best barbecue sauce that ever existed. He prided himself on quality, taste and full, robustflavor that enhanced whatever it was added to. But in those days, pork, chicken and beef were the mainstays and Jake created his sauces just for family gatherings.
Many years later, after Jake passed on, Cleo Calloway, Jr. began his pursuit of developing thebest barbecue sauce. Cleo never knew how much influence his great grandfather passed along until one fateful day. He’d just finished sharing with his mother his enthusiasm at the development of his key ingredients when his mother told him the story about his his great grandfather would toil for hours mixing and remixing ingredients until he felt his sauce could not be matched. Cleo’s mom told him just how much he reminded her of her grandfather Jake and so when it came time to name our product, Jake’s was a natural fit.
And thus, Jake’s Smokehouse Style Bar-B-Que Sauces and Company was born. Our products have traveled a long way to get here but are right on time in flavor, style and quality.
