Created in 1885 in Rouen by the brothers Pierre and Marius Barnier, this artisanal company produced candies under the mark Bonbons Switzerland. In 1900 Eugene Callet, who was a wholesaler in confectionery in Nantes, purchased Swiss Candies which become the Barnier Candies. The first machines to wrap candies appear in the years 1920 at the same time as the technique of manufacturing filled candies. The creation of “mini candy” in 1969 revolutionized the world of the confectionery.
Today, directed by the fourth generation of the same family since 1900, Bonbons Barnier remains faithful to the principles of its foundation. Only this rigor makes it possible to guarantee to each one quality and the singular taste of a Barnier candy.
